First Team Defense

This course is for you warriors and protectors! Are you looking to enhance your firearms training? are you looking to get your WV CHL? We have the training and an incredible weekend just for you! Two full days of firearms training. This will include classroom instruction and live fire scenarios. We start off Saturday with a completeConcealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals Course. This course will cover Situational Awareness, State & Federal Laws and the effects a Self-Defense situation has on the body. This course meets all the WV State requirements, to allow you to apply for your WV CHL. Day two: Sunday will start off with learning the basics ofDefensive Pistol. This will include drawing from a holster, magazine changes and using cover and concealment. We will finish the day withControlling the Bleed.This part of the course will show how to properly apply a tourniquet and wound dressing to help keep someone stabilized until EMS arrives.

Ashley Selmon is FTD's Lead Female Instructor and Range Safety Officer for First Team Defense! Ashley is a Certified USCCA instructor For Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals, Children's Firearms & Safety Fundamentals, and Woman's Handgun and Self-Defense Fundamentals. Ashley is also Certified to Instruct FTD's Defensive Rifle and Defensive  Pistol Courses. Ashley has set up an all female group "Ashley's Angel's" at First Team Defense to meet and discuss Self-Defense options and participate in live fire scenarios.

Rachel Southern is a Staff Instructor and Range Safety Officer for First Team Defense! Rachel is a Certified USCCA instructor For Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals, along with Woman's Handgun and Self-Defense Fundamentals. Rachel is also certified to Instruct FTD's Defensive Rifle and Defensive Pistol courses. Rachel holds the position of Vice-President and Instructor for Ashley's Angel's Rachel is also in the United States Air Force Reserves, she has had several deployments to the Middle East and around the world as needed.

Jacob Carder is one of our Range Safety Officer For First Team Defense. Jacob is a USCCA Certified Range Safety Officer. Jacob is also an Assistant Defensive Rifle and Defensive Pistol Instructor.
